MEAL PLANS

Lowther, North and South all include mandatory meal plans during the School Year. Meal plans are not offered during the Summer term. Our goal is to provide a healthy diet at a low cost, allowing members to supplement their diet with extras as they please.

All meal plans are overseen by a Food Services Committee made up of members and a staff support person. All members who wish to assist in the governance of the meal lans are welcome to join the committee.

Lowther Meal Plan: Provides house food for meals on a limited budget. Each house in Lowther Division elects a House Food Shopper who purchases groceries once a week as per a grocery list filled in by members. Each house decides whether or not organic, free range, kosher or halal foods are purchased within their budget limitations. Members prepare their own meals individually or collectively with house foods, as the house chooses.

North Meal Plan: Provides lunch and dinner 5 times a week, Monday to Friday, in the dining hall located at 403 Huron Street. There is no house food. The North Meal Plan requires member participation to assist the professional cook with set-up, food preparation, serving and clean-up.

South Meal Plan: Provides lunch and dinner 5 times a week and house food for breakfast and weekend snacks. Meals are served Monday to Friday in the dining hall located at 596 Spadina Avenue. The South Meal Plans offers a vegetarian option at each meal. The South Meal Plan requires member participation to assist the professional cook with set-up, food preparation, serving and clean-up.
